Alternative News Sources

Most of the time you don’t hear about news of the Grail on CNN or MSNBC. Not that there’s anything wrong with following which starlet is fooling around with what football player while wearing a particular designer shoe; news of this type just isn’t going to advance your Grail Quest. The following sources report on all sorts of odd and unusual news. Every week you’d be surprised what’s really going on in the world around you.

The Daily Grail - Has been a staple of alternative news on the web for the last few years. Each day the site catalogues reports of a unique nature in cyberland. This site has become the measuring stick upon which all other alternative news sources can be gauged.

Far Shores- Reports on the anomalous universe. They keep links to a number of websites and article achieves on a myriad of topics.

Fortean Times Possibly the granddaddy of all sources for weird and unusual news, the Fortean Times carries on the work of Charles Fort. Born in 1874, Fort became interested in logging the sometimes anomalous behavior of the natural world. Fort’s interest in all things odd sparked the launch of this magazine in 1973.

The Paranormal Report- You’ll find reprints of news articles and some originals at this site.

Myth and Mystery This site is more of a page with topic links than a true news site. However, it does have a rather exhaustive topic list of anything in the crypto world your might be looking for, from UFO’s to Free Energy.

Rense.com – Whenever I see this site, the Credence Clearwater Revival song, Coming Up Around the Bend, hits me like a hammer. This site is about as alternative as news gets.

Thoth Web – Add the standard reporting of odd news with a rather large resource section. The folks at Thoth Web make a lot of information available to you for free, but sometimes you’ll have to dig for it.

Unexplained Mysteries- A sweet all inclusive meta weirdness site. It’s you’re all in one stop for the type of news you’re looking for. Signing up for a free membership will get you access to forums, picture hosting and other fun web tidbits. I have a special place in my heart for UM since they post a column of mine from time to time.
